In part 7 of this series, we'll begin our study of the famous 'Fiery Furnace' story. As a young boy, this was always one of my favorite Bible lessons... an incredible story of courage and deliverance! As I've gotten older and lived through my own deep trials, God has used this same story again and again to speak to my heart in fresh and new ways. Tomorrow we'll look at just the first half of the story, where we find one of the most remarkable declarations of faith in the whole Bible! These three young men declare their belief that God CAN save them from the fire... but whether or not God DOES save them... they are going to remain loyal to their True King. All these centuries later, it's still an incredible and powerful testimony to us all today - and contains some deeply life-giving truths for us as we face our own version of the Fiery Furnace.
As always, we'll be asking our core question for this series: How do we navigate this life in such a way that we don't just survive, but thrive as the people of God living in a strange land?
