Tomorrow we'll resume our 2025 'Strengthened' series with our 6th question... is there really an afterlife? In every culture around the world and all throughout history, people have always wondered about what happens after death. Every religion and every philosophy addresses this question... and they all offer a wide variety of answers.
But even IF people agree on the existence of an afterlife, there remains a HUGE range of different ideas about what it will be like. Perhaps the largest of these questions deals with 'will there be any accountability or judgement day?'
While about 81% of Americans believe in some kind of spirit or afterlife - only 71% believe in Heaven and only 61% believe in Hell (Pew Research, 2023).
But what does the Bible say? What did Jesus tell us? And how can we clearly and compassionately explain these Bible truths to skeptical people?
We just finished a wonderful Easter celebration of the Resurrection - and so it seems especially fitting to put the time and effort into being ready to give an answer to these eternally important questions. Jesus is calling us to be ready to give an answer... and then to live out that answer with our lives.
