We’ll conclude our study of the book of Daniel and the final vision of Daniel’s life. Not only is this the end of our study of Daniel – this vision takes us all the way to THE END of History and the final resurrection.
In this last vision Daniel’s life, we’ve seen the ‘Cycle of History’ that continues to play out over-and-over-and-over again in the nations of the world... but this cycle won’t go on forever. As we’ll see, God has planned to bring this cycle to a dramatic close with a period of “Great Tribulation” which Daniel describes as “a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation.” Jesus also warned us about this cataclysmic end of History – and the final book of the Bible gives us even more details about it. Tomorrow we’ll look at Daniel, the warnings of Jesus, and consider if WE are ready for these end times to arrive. As always, we’ll find life-giving principles that can help us today as we seek to thrive while living in Babylon.
