We've reached the 10th message in this series, and it's on the return of Jesus Christ – commonly called the 2nd Coming! There are many Christians who love Jesus and love their Bibles who still have different interpretations of exactly how the End Times are going to unfold… but there is one thing that all Bible believing Christians agree upon: that Jesus is certainly coming back in Glory! The Bible calls this glorious appearing of Jesus Christ the ‘blessed hope’ of all the followers of Jesus. And what a great hope it is! Tomorrow we’re tackling the most detailed prophecy that Jesus gave us about His return. It’s in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 24, and it’s commonly called ‘The Olivet Discourse’ because Jesus gave this prophecy to His disciples on the Mount of Olives outside of Jerusalem. In this incredible portion of Scripture, we get to read what Jesus had to say about the Last Days, the coming Great Tribulation, His return in great power and glory… and what signs we should be looking for and what steps we should be taking to get ready. We’ll take a very high-level overview of what Jesus said about the End Days, so that we can focus the majority of our time on the Blessed Hope: the 2nd Coming of Jesus Christ! Then we’ll consider the main attack on this teaching, the Core Christian stand for this truth, and close with a practical look at how the Return of Christ affects our day-to-day lives.
